Changing Settings in Your MS Internet Mail
If you have Windows 95 (B version), you probably have this program in your system somewhere. You may have this program in your system either because your are using Windows 95 B version, or because you have installed Internet Explorer 3.x in your system. You can activate this program by selecting Internet Mail from your Program menu (click START, then PROGRAM), or by selecting "Read Mail" from the Mail icon in your Internet Explorer 3.x.

How to change your:

  • Address (as it appears on your sent e-mail)
  • Personal Name (as it appears on your sent e-mail)
  • Server Information
  • E-mail Login Information

Changing Your Address (as it appears on you sent e-mail).

Note: All CWO Internet Accounts have been provided with a user selected e-mail address. If you would like to change your address or have forgotten the one you selected, please contact technical support.

1. Click on the "Mail" pull-down menu and select "Options".
2. Click on the "Server" tab.
3. Make sure "Email Address" contains the e-mail address provided to you by CWO.
 

Changing Your Personal Name (as it appears on you sent e-mail).

1. Click on the "Mail" pull-down menu and select "Options".
2. Click on the "Server" tab.
3. Make sure "Your Name" contains the name you want to appear on your sent messages.
 

Changing Your Server Information

1. Click on the "Mail" pull-down menu and select "Options".
2. Click on the "Server" tab.
3. Make sure the "Outgoing Mail (SMTP):" text box reads: <your server name> (i.e. mail.cwo.com)
4. Make sure the "Incoming Mail (POP3):" text box reads: <your server name> (i.e. mail.cwo.com)
5. Click OK.
6. Check your mail as usual. You may encounter an error message requiring you to re-enter your password, this is normal. Simply re-enter your password and click OK.
 

Changing Your E-mail Login Information

Note: All CWO Internet accounts have been provided with a unique user name and password. If you would like to change your user name or password, or have forgotten the one you selected, please contact technical support.

1. Click on the "Mail" pull-down menu and select "Options".
2. Click on the "Server" tab.
3. Make sure the "POP3 Account" matches the user name on your account information sheet.
4. Make sure the "Password" contains the password on your account information sheet (the password box will only show asterisks, you may need to re-type your password if you feel it is incorrect).
5. Click OK.
6. Check your mail as usual. You may encounter an error message requiring you to re-enter your password, this is normal. Simply re-enter your password and click OK.

Note: If you still cannot successfully check you e-mail you may be using an incorrect user name or password. Remember that your user name and password are lowercase.
