Windows 95/98 Setup:

Internet Setup Disk, please call and request one for free!Before You Begin
You must have your Windows 95 or Windows 98 Installation CD or floppy disks before you begin the following procedure.
Also, if you have a printer, it will be helpful to print this page before following this procedure. Section 1 Install the Dial-up Adapter A) Checking for the Dial-up Adapter 1. From the Windows Desktop, double click on the My Computer icon then
Control Panel and then Network. 2. In the Network window there will be a large white box with a list of installed components. 3. We need to make sure two components are installed. Check to see if "Dial-up Adapter" and "TCP/IP" are listed (TCP/IP may appear as "TCP/IP -> Dial-up Adapter"). If both are present, then skip to Section 2.
B) Installing the Dial-up Adapter
If the Dial-up Adapter is not listed do the following. 1. From the Network window click on Add then choose "Adapter" and click Add. 2. Choose Microsoft on the left and choose Dial-up Adapter on the right and click OK. 3. Proceed to part C.
C) Installing the TCP/IP protocol 1. From the Network window click Add and choose protocol and click Add. 2. Choose
Microsoft on the left (by clicking on it once) and choose TCP/IP on the right and click OK. 3. Click OK on the Network window and follow the on screen instructions (you should be asked to insert your Windows 95 or 98 CD and to restart your computer). Section 2 Install Dial-up Networking and Profile
A) Checking For Dial-up Networking 1. Double click on My Computer. 2. Check to see if there is a "Dial-up Networking" Icon visible in the My Computer Window. If you see it, you may skip to Part C.
B) Installing Dial-up Networking If the Dial-up Networking Icon is not visible do the following. 1. Double click on My Computer.
2. Double click on Control Panel. 3. Double click on Add/Remove Programs. 4. Click on the Windows Setup tab at the top of the Add/Remove Programs window. 5. Double click on the Communications component category. 6. Make sure the Dial-up Networking is check box is marked. 7. Click OK all the way back out and restart your system if asked.
C) Adding a Dial-up Profile 1. From the main screen (the
Windows Desktop) double click on My Computer. 2. Double click on Dial-up Networking. 3. Double click on Make New Connection. 4. Enter CWO for the name of the computer you are dialing and click next. 5. Enter the area code and the dial-in number provided to you by CWO and click next. 6. Click Finish. 7. You will see a new icon in your Dial-up Networking window labeled CWO, use your right mouse button to right click
on CWO and choose the properties selection. 8. Click on the server types tab at the top or the server type button at the bottom. 9. Make sure only enable software compression and TCP/IP are checked. 10. Click OK all the way back out.
D) Create a Shortcut on the Desktop 1. From the main screen (the Windows Desktop) double click on My Computer. 2. Double click on
Dial-up Networking. 3. Locate the icon representing your connection with CWO and use your right mouse button to right click on CWO and choose the create shortcut selection.
